How to get to Playa de las Canteras

By public transport

The municipal guaguas (urban buses) offer excellent coverage, with numerous lines connecting the beach with different points in the city, including the San Telmo bus station and the Santa Catalina Interchange. Lines 1, 2, 17, and 25 are some of those with stops very close to the beach. For those arriving from other towns on the island or the airport, the Global company guaguas will drop you off at San Telmo station or the Santa Catalina Interchange, from where you can take an urban guagua or even enjoy a pleasant walk to the sand. The frequency of these services is high, especially during the day, which makes getting around much easier.

By car

If you prefer the comfort of your own vehicle or a rental car, the beach is easily accessible. However, finding parking directly on the front line can be a challenge, especially during high season or on weekends. Our suggestion is to opt for the paid underground car parks located nearby, such as those at Plaza de España, Mercado del Puerto, or the El Muelle Shopping Centre. These car parks offer security and will leave you just a few minutes' walk from the beach, avoiding the stress of looking for street parking. Remember that mobility in the city centre can be somewhat dense during peak hours, so plan your journey in advance.

On foot or by bicycle

For those staying in the city centre or areas near Puerto de la Luz, Playa de las Canteras is perfectly accessible on foot. A walk through the city to the beach can be an excellent way to get to know the surroundings and immerse yourself in the local atmosphere. Furthermore, the city has cycle lanes that facilitate arrival by bicycle, an ecological and healthy option that we always applaud.
