How to get to Playa de la Victoria

Getting to Playa de la Victoria is relatively easy, given its privileged location as an urban beach in Cadiz. We always recommend considering the different transport options to choose the one that best suits your needs and preferences, especially if you come during the high season.

By car

If you choose to come by car, the city of Cadiz is well connected by the A-4 and A-48 highways. Once in Cadiz, follow the signs towards the 'Paseo Marítimo' area or 'Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla' (formerly Carranza), as the beach stretches along this main artery of the city. The main challenge, as in many Spanish coastal cities, is finding parking, especially in the summer months. There are some regulated parking zones (ORA) on adjacent streets, but they tend to fill up quickly. Our suggestion is to look for underground car parks. The closest and most practical ones are usually the one at the Stadium or the one at Cortadura, although they may require a short walk or a trip on the city bus to your exact point on the beach. Planning ahead is key if you come in your own vehicle.

By city bus

For us, the city bus is one of the best options for getting around Cadiz and reaching Playa de la Victoria. Several lines have stops along the Paseo Marítimo, right opposite the beach. Lines 1 and 7 are the most useful, connecting the beach with the historic center and other areas of the city. The buses have good frequency and are an economical and comfortable way to avoid parking problems. It's a highly recommended option if you are staying in the old town or prefer to leave your car in a more distant parking lot and travel without worries.

By train

The Cadiz train station is located in the city center, about 4-5 kilometers from Playa de la Victoria. From the station, you can take a taxi, which will drop you off at the beach in about 10-15 minutes, depending on traffic. Another option is to walk to one of the nearby city bus stops close to the station and take one of the lines mentioned above. If you arrive by train, the combination of taxi-bus or bus-bus is very efficient.

On foot or by bicycle

If you are staying in the historic center of Cadiz and feel like a walk, Playa de la Victoria is accessible on foot via the long Paseo Marítimo. It's a pleasant walk of about 45-60 minutes, depending on your pace and which part of the beach you want to reach. For cycling enthusiasts, the promenade is ideal to ride along, and you'll find bike lanes in some sections. It's an excellent way to enjoy the coastal landscape and feel the sea breeze before reaching your sandy destination.

The sand and the water
