How to Get to Playa de La Salvé

Getting to Playa de La Salvé is surprisingly easy, which contributes to its popularity. Its privileged location in the municipality of Laredo, in the province of Cantabria, makes it very accessible from different parts of Spain.

By Car

If we come by car, the A-8 highway (Autovía del Cantábrico) is our best ally. Laredo has several exits that lead directly to the town center and the vicinity of the beach. From Santander, the journey takes about 45 minutes, while from Bilbao, it's just under an hour. Once in Laredo, the beach stretches along the entire promenade, making it easy to find your way.

Regarding parking, Laredo offers numerous options. Along the promenade, we'll find regulated parking zones (ORA) during the high season, as well as several paid public parking lots that usually have spaces available. Our recommendation is to arrive early, especially in July and August, to secure a good spot and avoid crowds. There are also free parking areas on the inner streets, though they tend to be busier.

By Public Transport

For those who prefer public transport, Laredo is well-connected by bus. There are regular lines connecting the town with Santander, Bilbao, and other nearby locations. The Laredo bus station is within comfortable walking distance of the beach and the town center. It's an excellent option if we want to forget the car and enjoy a more relaxed journey.

• Chiringuitos and Restaurants: Along the beach and the promenade, there are many chiringuitos and restaurants where we can enjoy a refreshment, a snack, or a full meal with sea views. The offer is varied, from more informal options to establishments with local cuisine.
• Sunshade and Sunbed Rental: For those who prefer to travel light, it's possible to rent sunshades and sunbeds, allowing us to enjoy shade and rest without carrying our own equipment.
• Parking: As mentioned, Laredo has extensive parking areas, both paid and free, facilitating access by private vehicle.
