How to Get to Playa de la Romanilla

Getting to Playa de la Romanilla is really simple, given its privileged location in the urban center of Roquetas de Mar. This makes it extremely accessible for most visitors. If we come by car, the A-7 motorway is the main access route to the province of Almería. Once in Almería, we will take the exit towards Roquetas de Mar via the A-391. The signs are clear and will guide us directly to the center of the municipality.

By Car

• From Almería city: Approximately 20-25 minutes via the A-7 and A-391.
• From Málaga or Granada: We will take the A-7 towards Almería. The journey duration will depend on our starting point, but the signage is excellent.

By Public Transport

• Bus: Roquetas de Mar has a good network of urban buses connecting different points of the municipality with the beach area. There are also interurban lines linking Roquetas with Almería city and other nearby municipalities. The stops are usually very close to the promenade.
• Plane: The nearest airport is Almería Airport (LEI), about 30 km away. From there, we can take a taxi, a bus, or rent a car to get to Roquetas de Mar.

The Sand and Water

Playa de la Romanilla welcomes us with its characteristic mixed sand, a peculiarity that distinguishes it from other beaches in the region. It's not the typical fine, golden sand we might expect, but a combination of coarser sand with small pebbles and stones, of a dark tone that contrasts wonderfully with the intense blue of the Mediterranean. Being in a more protected area with a gentle slope, entry into the sea is gradual and safe, without sudden drops or strong currents. This makes it an ideal place for swimming, especially for those traveling with children or the elderly, who can enjoy the sea with complete confidence. The water temperature, especially in the summer months, is pleasantly warm, inviting long dips and relaxing floats in the sun.
