How to Get to Playa de la Roda

Getting to Playa de la Roda is extremely easy, given its privileged location in the centre of Altea. We always recommend planning the trip, but the truth is the options are varied and accessible for everyone.

By Car

If you're coming by car, the Mediterranean Motorway (AP-7) is the main route. You should take exit 64 (Altea/Calpe/La Nucía). Once on the N-332, follow the signs towards Altea centre. The beach runs parallel to the road and the promenade, so you can't miss it. Regarding parking, you'll find paid parking along the promenade and some adjacent streets. During the summer months, it can be a challenge to find a spot nearby, so we advise arriving early or considering the underground car parks in Altea centre, which usually have spaces available.

By Public Transport

Altea is well connected by public transport. The Alicante Metropolitan TRAM has a line (L9) connecting Denia with Benidorm, passing through Altea. Altea station is within walking distance of the beach, approximately a 15-20 minute walk. Furthermore, several intercity bus lines connect Altea with nearby towns like Benidorm, Calpe, or Alicante. Once at Altea's bus station, a short walk or a taxi will take you directly to the beach.

On Foot or by Bicycle

If you're looking for a lively atmosphere, with all services running at full capacity, chiringuitos full, and the chance to enjoy water sports, then this is your moment. However, you should be prepared to find the beach more crowded and accommodation and service prices slightly higher. We recommend booking in advance if you plan to travel during these months.

The climate is mild and very pleasant, perfect for walking along the beach or the promenade without the intense summer heat. The landscapes are beautiful, with nature awakening in spring or turning ochre tones in autumn. Although it's not the season for mass bathing, winter in Altea is surprisingly mild.
