By Car

The most common and comfortable way to access Playa de la Olla is by car. From Altea, we can take the N-332 towards Calpe and will find well-signposted turnoffs to the beach. There are several parking areas nearby, some free and others paid, especially during the high season. It is important to arrive early in the summer if we want to secure a good spot, as the influx of visitors increases considerably. Access is quite direct and the roads are in good condition.

By Public Transport

If we prefer not to use the car, there are public transport options. There are bus lines connecting Altea with the areas near Playa de la Olla. Although the stops are not always right on the shore, they usually leave us within walking distance. It is advisable to check the updated schedules and routes of the local bus company, as they may vary depending on the season. For those coming from nearby municipalities like Calpe or Benidorm, there are also connections that allow us to reach Altea and, from there, connect to the beach.

On Foot or by Bicycle

For the more active, Playa de la Olla is accessible on foot or by bicycle from the center of Altea via a pleasant promenade or secondary paths. It is a fantastic option to enjoy the coastal landscape and get some exercise. The route is relatively flat and offers us wonderful views of the coast, ideal for a morning or evening walk.

Summer (June-August)

Summer is, as expected, the high season. The days are long and sunny, and the water temperature is perfect for swimming. The beach comes alive, with chiringuitos in full swing and a more animated atmosphere. If we are looking for the summer buzz, water activities, and the hustle and bustle typical of the season, summer is our choice. However, we must be prepared to find more people and for parking to be more difficult. We, if we go in summer, prefer to go early in the morning or late in the afternoon to avoid peak hours.

Autumn (September-October)

Autumn is another of our favorite times. The temperatures are still very pleasant, the sea water still retains the summer warmth, and the crowds of tourists have decreased considerably. September, in particular, is a wonderful month: we enjoy sunny and warm days, but with a peace and serenity that invite absolute relaxation. It is ideal for those seeking a quiet getaway, to read a good book by the sea, or simply to enjoy the silence broken only by the sound of the waves. Furthermore, the autumn sunsets over L'Illeta are spectacular.

Winter (November-March)

Although it is not the season for swimming, winter at Playa de la Olla has its own charm. The days are usually sunny and mild compared to other regions of Europe, making it a perfect destination for walking, meditating, and enjoying nature in its purest state. The beach is practically deserted, offering us a feeling of exclusivity. It is an excellent time for photographers or for those seeking a peaceful retreat.

We can explore the marine life that hides among the rocks and around L'Illeta. We don't need to be experts; with a mask, snorkel, and fins, fun is guaranteed. For the more adventurous, there are nearby diving centers that organize dives in the area.
• Paddle Surfing and Kayaking: The calm waters of the bay are ideal for paddle surfing and kayaking.
