How to Get to Playa de la Gola del Ter

Getting to Playa de la Gola del Ter is part of the adventure, and its access, while not complicated, helps maintain its semi-virgin character and protect it from crowds. Generally, the most common access is from the municipality of Torroella de Montgrí or from L'Estartit.

By Car

If we come by car, the usual route is to take the road from Torroella de Montgrí towards L'Estartit. Before reaching the urban center of L'Estartit, we will find signs that will divert us towards the Gola del Ter area. It's important to know that the last stretch of the road is usually a dirt track or an unpaved path. This requires driving with caution, especially if our vehicle is not an off-roader. Dust in summer and mud during rainy seasons can be travel companions. However, this small 'sacrifice' is amply rewarded upon reaching our destination.

Once near the beach, we will find informal parking areas, usually set up on the sides of the paths. During the high season, these areas can fill up quickly, so we recommend arriving early in the morning to secure our spot and avoid unnecessary circling. Regular bus lines reach Torroella de Montgrí and L'Estartit, but from there we should consider the option of a taxi, walking, or renting a bicycle to get to the beach.
