As experts on Tenerife beaches, we always seek out those special corners, and La Enramada is one of them.

How to Get to Playa de la Enramada

Getting to Playa de la Enramada is relatively easy, as it is located in a well-connected area of the municipality of Adeje. We always recommend planning the route a little to make the most of the day. If you are coming from Tenerife South Airport (Reina Sofía), the distance is about 25-30 kilometers, which translates into a journey of approximately 20-25 minutes by car via the TF-1 motorway towards Los Cristianos/Adeje.

By Car

It is, without a doubt, the most comfortable option and the one that gives us the most freedom. From any point in southern Tenerife, such as Los Cristianos or Playa de las Américas, you just need to take the TF-1 towards Adeje and look for the exit towards La Caleta or El Duque. Playa de la Enramada is located right between the El Duque area and the charming fishing village of La Caleta. There are free and paid parking areas nearby, although in high season they can fill up quickly, so we advise arriving early. We usually park on the streets adjacent to the beach or in the parking lots of some nearby shopping centers, which are often a good alternative.

By Public Transport

The TITSA guagua (bus) lines connect Adeje with the rest of the island. Several lines pass near Playa de la Enramada, especially those heading to La Caleta. The closest stops are usually just a few minutes' walk from the beach. It is an economical and ecological option, ideal if we don't want to worry about parking.

By Taxi or Ride-Hailing Service (VTC)

If we prefer absolute comfort, a taxi or a ride-hailing service will drop us off right at the entrance to the beach. It is a quick and convenient option, especially if we are traveling in a group or with a lot of luggage. Prices are reasonable for short trips within Adeje.

The Sand and Water

The most distinctive feature of Playa de la Enramada is certainly its volcanic sand. Of an almost black dark grey color, it is extraordinarily fine and soft to the touch, making it very pleasant for walking barefoot or for children to play on. Unlike other lighter sands, this sand absorbs the sun's heat, so we always recommend wearing flip-flops or suitable footwear, especially during the middle hours of the day. It is a type of sand that connects us directly with the geological origin of Tenerife, offering a unique sensory experience.

The waters of Playa de la Enramada are, in general, very calm and crystal clear. Protected from the strongest currents, they are ideal for swimming, even for the little ones. The transparency of the water allows us to easily see the seabed, inviting a refreshing dip. We love how the sun reflects on the surface, creating silver sparkles over the dark seabed. The water temperature is pleasant all year round, maintaining that 'eternal spring climate' that characterizes the Canary Islands. It is a delight to dive in and let yourself be carried away by the calm of this corner.

Although Playa de la Enramada maintains a more natural feel than other urban beaches in Adeje, it is not lacking in services. In fact, we are pleasantly surprised by the variety of facilities we find, designed to ensure a comfortable and pleasant stay for all visitors.

• Sun Umbrellas and Sun Loungers: For those looking for a day of total relaxation, there are rental points for sun umbrellas and comfortable sun loungers. We always appreciate having the option to shelter from the Canarian sun while reading a book or simply letting ourselves be carried away by the sound of the sea.
• Showers and Toilets/WC: After a refreshing swim, it is always a relief to be able to wash off the salt and sand. The beach has showers and public toilets, which are kept clean and operational, a detail we highly value in any beach.
• Lifeguards: During the high season and daytime hours, Playa de la Enramada has a lifeguard service. This gives us extra peace of mind, especially when we go with children or if we are not very experienced swimmers. Safety is paramount.

Gastronomy and Leisure

• Beach Bars (Chiringuitos) and Restaurants: Along the promenade that borders the beach and in the nearby village of La Caleta, we find an excellent gastronomic offer. From simple chiringuitos where you can enjoy a snack and a cold drink, to restaurants with delicious fresh fish dishes and Canarian cuisine.
