How to Get to Playa de La Concha

Getting to Playa de La Concha is, in our opinion, one of the simplest and most rewarding experiences, given its excellent location in Santander. If we are coming from the city center, we can opt for a pleasant walk along the Paseo de Pereda and the Muelle de Calderón, enjoying the views of the port and the bay. It's a 20-30 minute walk, ideal for working up an appetite or simply stretching our legs.

For those who prefer comfort, Santander has an efficient urban bus network (TUS) that drops us off very close to the beach. Several lines connect the center with the Sardinero area and Playa de La Concha, making it a very practical and economical option. If we choose to drive, we will find various Parking areas nearby, both paid and some regulated parking options. During the high season, it can be a bit more difficult to find a spot, so we recommend arriving early or considering public transport. From our point of view, the ease of access is a major plus for this beach, as it allows us to enjoy it without complications.

The Sand and Water

If there's something that captivates us about Playa de La Concha, it is undoubtedly the quality of its sand and the serenity of its waters. The sand is a pale golden color, extremely fine and soft to the touch, making it perfect for walking barefoot, building sandcastles with the little ones, or simply relaxing on it. It's a true pleasure to feel it under our feet while we search for the ideal spot for our towel.

As for the water, we encounter a calm sea, characteristic of the beaches in the bay. The waters of Playa de La Concha are crystal clear and shallow at the shore, making them a safe and very pleasant place for swimming, especially for children and those who are not comfortable with strong waves. The water temperature, although it's the Cantabrian Sea, is usually very refreshing in summer and invites us to take a dip to beat the heat. The combination of fine sand and calm water creates an idyllic atmosphere to enjoy the sea to the fullest.

• Sunbed and Umbrella Rental: For those who prefer not to carry their own equipment, there is the possibility of renting Sunbeds and Umbrellas, which greatly facilitates the stay and allows us to enjoy shade and comfort.
• Chiringuitos and Restaurants: At the beachfront and on the adjacent promenade, we will find several Chiringuitos and Restaurants where we can enjoy a refreshment, an ice cream, or a delicious meal with sea views. The gastronomic offer is varied and of good quality.
• Accessibility: Although we do not classify the beach as having 'full accessibility' in the strictest sense (which would imply assisted bathing points), it does have access ramps and walkways that facilitate access to the sand for people with reduced mobility, which is a very positive point.
• Children's Area: In the surroundings, and as part of the Sardinero beach complex, there are Children's Areas with playgrounds for the little ones, complementing the leisure offer for families.
