How to Get to Playa de la Carolina

Getting to Playa de la Carolina is relatively straightforward, though it requires a bit of planning to ensure the best experience. We recommend arriving by car, as it's the most comfortable and flexible option for exploring not only the beach but also the surrounding area. From the center of Pulpí, the journey is short, following the signs towards the coast.

If we're coming from other towns in Almería or Murcia, we should take the A-7 (Mediterranean Highway) and turn off towards Pulpí or Águilas, depending on our starting point. Once nearby, the signs will guide us towards the 'Protected Landscape of the Four Coves'. Playa de la Carolina is the southernmost of this group, just before crossing into the Region of Murcia. There is a designated parking area nearby, which facilitates access, although in high season it can fill up quickly, so we advise arriving early. It's also possible to take a taxi from Pulpí or Águilas, or even a bus on summer routes that connect to the beaches, although these latter options are less frequent and have more limited schedules.

The Sand and Water

Playa de la Carolina is a true delight for the senses, and much of its charm lies in the quality of its sand and the purity of its waters. We were captivated by its fine, golden sand, so soft to the touch that it invites walking barefoot and building sandcastles effortlessly. It's clean sand, with perfect grain size, stretching for about 250 meters, offering enough space for every visitor to find their own corner of peace.

As for the water, it's simply spectacular. The waters of Playa de la Carolina are of a crystal-clear transparency that allows us to see the seabed clearly, even at some depth. Their color varies between turquoise blue and emerald green, creating a beautiful contrast with the golden sand. Furthermore, being sheltered by the rock formations, its waters are usually calm and shallow near the shore, making it an ideal place for swimming and for children to enjoy safely. • Parking: As mentioned earlier, there is a nearby parking area, although it's important to arrive early in the summer months to secure a spot.
