Don't expect a paved road leading directly to the shore; in fact, accessibility is limited, which keeps it virgin and uncrowded. Access by Boat

The most common and often simplest way to reach Filikuri is by sea. We highly recommend this option, as it allows you to enjoy the stunning views of the cliffy coast of the Albanian Riviera. You can rent a small boat or join organized tours departing from nearby villages like Himara or Dhermi. These tours usually include stops at other secret coves and sea caves, making the journey an excursion in itself. It's a fantastic opportunity to see the coast from a different perspective and immerse yourself in the beauty of the Ionian Sea.

Access on Foot (for the more adventurous)

For hiking and adventure lovers, there is a walking route, although we must warn that it is demanding and not suitable for everyone. The trail is not well-marked and runs through steep and rocky terrain, along cliffs. It requires good physical condition, proper footwear, and experience in this type of terrain. Don't underestimate the difficulty, especially under the summer sun. If you choose this route, make sure to bring enough water, sunscreen, and inform someone about your route. We, personally, prefer the comfort and views offered by maritime access, leaving the hike for safer explorations on solid ground.

The Sand and Water

What captivates us most about Playa de Filikuri is, without a doubt, the combination of its ground and its waters. Here you won't find the usual fine golden sand, but an expanse of white pebbles polished by the sea. These pebbles, of various sizes, create a natural bed and a visually striking landscape. Walking on them, you feel a direct connection with nature, although we recommend wearing water shoes or sandals for greater comfort, especially when entering and exiting the sea.

The water... oh, the water! It's simply spectacular. The transparency is such that we can see the seabed with astonishing clarity, even at several meters deep. The color ranges between shades of turquoise and emerald blue, a feast for the eyes that irresistibly invites you to dive in. The water temperature, especially in the summer months, is pleasantly warm, perfect for long swims and cooling off from the Mediterranean sun. The cleanliness is impeccable, a testament to the virgin state of this Vlora beach, far from pollution and mass development. Filikuri is a completely virgin and undeveloped beach. This means there are no services or facilities of any kind on the beach. You won't find:

• Bathrooms/WCs
• Beach bars or restaurants
• Umbrella and sunbed rentals
• First aid posts
• Parking (direct car access is impossible)

Best Time to Visit

Choosing the right time to visit Playa de Filikuri can make a big difference in your experience. As with most Vlora beaches and the Albanian Riviera, summer is the high season, but there are important nuances.

High Season (July and August)

These are the warmest and sunniest months, with ideal water temperatures for swimming. However, they are also the months when Filikuri, despite its difficult access, can receive more visitors, especially on boat tours. Although it will never be as crowded as urban beaches, the feeling of solitude may slightly diminish. If your only option is to travel
