How to get to Playa de Es Port

Getting to Playa de Es Port is really simple, which adds to its appeal, especially for families or those who prefer to avoid long walks. Being integrated into the urban centre of Colonia de Sant Jordi, its access is very direct.

By car

If we come by car from Palma, the most common route is to take the Ma-19 towards Llucmajor and then follow the signs to Campos and finally Ses Salines/Colonia de Sant Jordi. The journey takes approximately 45-50 minutes. Once in Colonia de Sant Jordi, the beach is right next to the marina. There are parking options in the nearby streets, although in high season it can be a bit more difficult to find a spot. We recommend arriving early to secure a good place.

By public transport

There are bus lines connecting Palma and other towns in Mallorca with Colonia de Sant Jordi. The main bus stop in the town is just a few minutes' walk from Playa de Es Port. It's a comfortable and sustainable option for those who prefer not to drive.

By bicycle or on foot

For those staying in Colonia de Sant Jordi or its surroundings, the beach is perfectly accessible on foot or by bicycle, allowing you to enjoy the pleasant promenade and local atmosphere before reaching the sand.

The sand and the water

The quality of the sand and water at Playa de Es Port is, without a doubt, one of its greatest attractions. We are faced with a fine sand beach with a soft golden tone that invites relaxation and sandcastle building. The type of ground is predominantly sand, making it very comfortable for walking barefoot and laying out a towel.

The waters are another of its strong points: transparent, with a turquoise blue that transports us to paradise and, above all, very calm. The bay in which it is located protects it from currents and strong waves, making it an ideal natural pool for swimming, especially for the little ones. The shallow depth at the shore extends gently, allowing children to play safely and adults to enjoy a refreshing dip without worries. The water temperature, especially in the summer months, is delightful, perfect for a long swim.

• Parking: As already mentioned, there are parking options in the adjacent streets, facilitating access to the beach.
• Full Accessibility: The beach is adapted for people with reduced mobility, ensuring that everyone can enjoy this wonderful corner of Mallorca.

Best time to visit

Playa de Es Port is a destination we can enjoy for much of the year, although, as with most Balearic beaches, the experience varies depending on the season.

Summer (June - September)

It is, without a doubt, the time of greatest influx. The days are long, sunny and the water temperatures are ideal for swimming. If we're looking for bustle, atmosphere and the maximum range of services, this is the time. However, it also means the beach will be more crowded. We recommend going early in the morning or late in the afternoon to enjoy more tranquility.

Spring (April - May) and Autumn (October)

For us, these are the ideal seasons. The climate is mild and pleasant, perfect for walking along the shore, sunbathing and enjoying peace without the summer crowds.
