How to Get to Playa de Elafonisi

There are two main routes: one that skirts the west coast, passing through Kissamos, and another that goes through the mountainous interior, offering more rural and traditional landscapes. Both converge before reaching the beach. We advise you to leave early to avoid the crowds and secure a good spot in the large free or low-cost parking located right next to the beach.
• Bus: During the high season, there are daily buses departing from Chania. It is an economical option, but less flexible in terms of schedules and stops. Be sure to check the schedules in advance, as they may vary.
• Organized Tours: Many tourism agencies in Chania and other cities in Crete offer day trips to Elafonisi. These usually include bus transportation and sometimes a stop at other nearby points of interest. It is a good option if you prefer not to drive and want a guided experience.
