How to Get to Playa de El Sablón

Getting to Playa de El Sablón is, in itself, part of the rewarding experience this destination offers. Given its privileged location, practically embedded in the urban center of Llanes, access is extremely simple and comfortable, making it an ideal choice for all types of visitors. We, as experts in Asturian beaches, always value ease of access, and El Sablón excels in this aspect.

By Car

If we choose to drive, the A-8 highway (Autovía del Cantábrico) is our best ally. We will take the exit towards Llanes and, once in the town, follow the signs to the center or the beach area. Given its centrality, Playa de El Sablón is easily located. The main challenge can be parking, especially during high season. Although the beach does not have its own direct parking lot, in the vicinity of the center of Llanes and along the promenade, we will find various public parking areas, some paid (blue zone) and others free, although the latter tend to fill up quickly. Our recommendation is to arrive early if traveling in the middle of summer or to look for park-and-ride options a bit further away and enjoy a pleasant walk to the beach.

By Public Transport

Llanes is well connected by train and bus. The FEVE (Ferrocarriles de Vía Estrecha) station is a short distance from the center, and from there we can reach the beach with a short and pleasant walk. Intercity bus lines also stop in Llanes, connecting the municipality with other Asturian towns and neighboring regions. Once at the bus station, the walk to the beach is just a few minutes away, making it very accessible for those who prefer not to drive.

On Foot

For those already staying in Llanes, Playa de El Sablón is accessible on foot from practically any point in the town. Just head towards the promenade or the historic center. It's a beach discovered by strolling, with the sea breeze guiding us to its sand.
