How to Get to Playa de El Rihuete

Getting to Playa de El Rihuete is, fortunately, a simple task, which makes it even more attractive for our getaway plans. Its privileged location within the municipality of Mazarrón, and more specifically very close to Puerto de Mazarrón, greatly facilitates access from different points in the region and beyond.

Road Access

If we come by car, the main road that will lead us to Mazarrón is the RM-332. Once in the municipality, the beach is perfectly signposted. From Puerto de Mazarrón, the journey is very short, just a few minutes by car, and we can follow the promenade that connects the different beaches. The ease of access is one of its great advantages, avoiding long detours or complicated roads.

Parking

Regarding parking, Playa de El Rihuete has several areas to park our vehicle. During the high season, as with all popular beaches, it can be a bit more difficult to find a spot right on the front line, but there are always options on adjacent streets or in designated areas a short distance away. We always recommend arriving early to secure a good spot, especially if visiting the beach on a summer weekend. The presence of nearby public parking means we don't have to worry excessively about this aspect.

Public Transport

For those who prefer public transport, Mazarrón and Puerto de Mazarrón have bus lines connecting to the main urban centers of the province of Murcia. Once in Puerto de Mazarrón, the beach is accessible on foot or via the urban buses that run along the coast. It is a comfortable option for those who want to forget about the car completely during their vacation.

We don't find annoying rocks or pebbles that hinder walking, which contributes to that feeling of comfort and well-being. Its expanse means that, even on busy days, we don't feel too close to our neighbors, offering good space for everyone.

Calm and Crystal Clear Waters

But if the sand is a pleasure, the water at Playa de El Rihuete is a delight. Its waters are notably calm and crystal clear, with a turquoise blue hue that invites a dip. Mazarrón Bay, where the beach is located, protects it from strong currents and waves, resulting in a calm sea, ideal for safe swimming for the whole family, especially young children. The absence of large waves allows them to play safely at the water's edge, and for us to swim with complete peace of mind.

The water depth is progressive and not steep at the shore, making it even safer. We can wade in gradually without the water suddenly covering us, a characteristic we always appreciate when traveling with children or elderly people. The underwater visibility is good, which, although it is not a beach famous for deep diving, does allow for some snorkeling near the rocks if there are any at the ends, observing the more superficial marine life. The water temperature in the summer months is very pleasant, warm and refreshing at the same time, perfect for combating the Murcian heat.
