How to Get to Playa de El Faro

By Car

This is undoubtedly the most comfortable way for most of our visitors, as it offers flexibility to explore the surroundings. The beach is located at the foot of the old N-340, now converted into a local road that runs parallel to the A-7 motorway. If you're coming from Malaga city or from Marbella, you should take the A-7 motorway (Autovía del Mediterráneo) and take the exit indicating 'Mijas Costa' or 'El Faro'. Once on the service road, the beach is easily identifiable. There are parking areas nearby, both free on the roadside and some designated parking lots, although they can fill up quickly in the middle of summer. Our advice is to arrive early to secure a good spot.

By Bus

Public transport is an excellent alternative for those who prefer not to drive or want to contribute to sustainability. The interurban bus line connecting Fuengirola with Marbella (L-79) has stops very close to Playa de El Faro. We recommend checking the schedules of the Portillo (Avanza) company that operates these routes, as frequencies vary depending on the season. It's an economical option and allows you to enjoy the scenery without worries.

Taxi or VTC

If you're looking for maximum comfort and don't mind the budget, a taxi or a vehicle with a driver (VTC) will drop you off right at the entrance to the beach. It's a good option if you're coming from Malaga airport or a nearby hotel and want to avoid parking hassles.
