How to Get to Playa de El Cañuelo

The beach is located between the Camarinal Lighthouse and the famous Bolonia beach, which already gives us a clue about its remote location. The most common way to access it is via a trail or path that starts near the Camarinal Lighthouse or, for the more adventurous, from Bolonia beach itself, which involves a longer coastal walk.

If you're coming by car, the first step is to head towards Bolonia. Before reaching the center of Bolonia, you'll see signs or paths leading to the Camarinal Lighthouse. It's important to park the vehicle in one of the designated or tolerated areas around the lighthouse, always respecting the signage and the natural environment. From there, a well-marked but somewhat uneven trail descends through a pine forest, offering spectacular views of the Strait of Gibraltar and the African coast in the distance. The walk to the sand of Playa de El Cañuelo usually takes between 15 and 25 minutes, depending on the pace and the exact starting point. It is advisable to wear comfortable footwear suitable for walking on uneven terrain. The reward at the end of the path is immense: a paradise of sand and sea waiting to be discovered.
