How to Get to Playa de Curumbico

Getting to Playa de Curumbico is relatively straightforward, although it requires a bit of attention to not miss this discreet paradise. If we're coming from Almuñécar, we need to take the N-340 heading east, towards La Herradura. The beach is located a few kilometers from the center of Almuñécar, in a semi-urban area but well integrated into the coastal landscape. It's important to pay attention to the signs or the entrances to nearby residential areas, as direct access to the cove is usually via small turn-offs.

Access by Car

The car is, without a doubt, the most comfortable option to get to Playa de Curumbico. There are parking areas nearby, although they can fill up quickly during the high season. We often find parking on the streets adjacent to the beach or in small designated spaces. From there, there's usually a short walk, sometimes involving some stairs, down to the sand. The ease of vehicle access allows us to bring everything needed for a day at the beach without major complications, from umbrellas to coolers with provisions.

If we prefer public transport, we can take a bus from the Almuñécar station that covers the route towards La Herradura or the nearby residential areas. It's advisable to check the schedules and specific stops, as the bus might drop us off on the main road and we may have to walk a stretch to the beach.
