By Car

For us, the most practical option to get to Chilches beach is undoubtedly by car. The A-7 motorway, known as the Mediterranean Motorway, runs very close to the coast and offers a direct connection. You should take exit 258, which will indicate 'Chilches'. Once you leave the motorway, signs will easily guide you to the beach area. The journey from Málaga city usually takes about 25-30 minutes, depending on traffic, while from Vélez-Málaga or Torre del Mar, the trip is even shorter, just 10-15 minutes. An important advantage is that, near the beach and its surroundings, you'll find parking areas, often free or very low-cost, which greatly facilitates access and unloading all your beach gear. We recommend arriving early in the summer months to secure a good spot, although the crowds are usually manageable.

Public Transport

If you prefer not to drive, public transport is a viable alternative. The intercity bus lines connecting Málaga city with the municipalities of the Axarquía are an excellent option. The bus company Alsa operates several routes that pass through Chilches.
