How to Get to Playa de Canido

Getting to Playa de Canido is relatively easy, given its proximity to the city of Vigo and the good connections in the area. We always advise planning the journey to save time and enjoy to the fullest from the first moment.

By Car

If we're coming from outside Galicia, the most common way is to take the AP-9 highway. Once near Vigo, we must follow the signs towards the beaches south of the city, like Samil. Playa de Canido is very close to Samil, following the coast southwards. There are Parking areas nearby, although they can fill up quickly during high season. We recommend arriving early to secure a good spot. The access roads are well-signposted and in good condition, making it easy to reach this beautiful beach. It's a picturesque route that already prepares us for the coastal atmosphere awaiting us.

By Public Transport

For those who prefer to leave the car and avoid worries, the Vigo urban transport network (Vitrasa) offers several lines that reach the vicinity of the beach. Lines L10, L11, and L15A/B/C usually have stops a short distance away, allowing us to arrive comfortably from the city center. It's an excellent option for those staying in Vigo and wanting to enjoy a stress-free beach day. The buses are frequent, especially during the summer months, and leave us a short walk from the beach, which is ideal if we're loaded with towels and coolers.

By Bicycle or Walking

For lovers of an active lifestyle, Playa de Canido is accessible via a pleasant promenade that connects with other beaches in the area, like Samil. Traveling it by bicycle or on foot is a fantastic experience, offering spectacular views of the estuary and the Cíes Islands.
