How to Get to Playa de Camarón

Getting to Playa de Camarón is relatively easy, which is a plus for any traveler. If we come by car, the best option is to take the A-480 from Jerez de la Frontera or the A-491 if we come from Rota or Sanlúcar de Barrameda. Once in Chipiona, the signage to the beaches is clear. We always recommend using a GPS, but generally, the beach is located in the western area of the municipality, near the lighthouse and the urban center.

Parking

Regarding parking, it's a common concern, especially during high season. Playa de Camarón has several parking areas nearby, both free (though they tend to fill up quickly) and paid. Our recommendation is to arrive early, especially in July and August, to secure a good spot. It's also possible to find parking on the surrounding streets, though sometimes it requires a short walk to the sand. The convenience of having the car nearby is a plus, making it easier to transport all the beach gear.

Public Transport

For those who prefer public transport, Chipiona is well connected by bus to nearby cities like Jerez, Cádiz or Seville. Once at the Chipiona bus station, Playa de Camarón is at a distance that can be easily covered on foot, or you can opt for a taxi if we have a lot of luggage or prefer more comfort. The municipality's own urban transport network also facilitates access to different points of the beach.

The Sand and Water

The first thing that catches our attention when stepping onto Playa de Camarón is its fine, golden sand. It's a delight to walk barefoot on it, to feel it slip between our toes. This sand, characteristic of the beaches of Chipiona, is perfect for building sandcastles, for children to play with complete freedom, and for spreading our towel without worrying about the discomfort of coarse sand or stones. It's a natural canvas that invites relaxation and enjoyment.

The waters of Playa de Camarón are, in general, calm and shallow in the first few meters, making them very safe for swimming, especially for the little ones. The cleanliness of the water is another notable aspect, which has earned it the Blue Flag distinction on numerous occasions, a quality seal that gives us great confidence. The water temperature is pleasant during the summer months, allowing for prolonged and refreshing swims. Watching the gentle ebb and flow of the waves is therapy in itself.

• Lifeguard Service: During the bathing season, the beach has lifeguard service, who watch over our safety and that of our children. The surveillance posts are well located and easily identifiable.
• Full Accessibility: We are pleased to see that the beach has wooden walkways that facilitate access to the sand, as well as amphibious chairs and support staff for people with reduced mobility at specific points, making this an inclusive beach for everyone.
• Sunbed and Umbrella Rental: For those who prefer to travel light, there are points where we can rent umbrellas and sunbeds, ensuring a comfortable spot protected from the sun.
• Chiringuitos and Restaurants: On the beach and in its immediate surroundings, we find a varied offer of chiringuitos and restaurants where we can enjoy a snack, a refreshing drink, or a complete meal with sea views. From tapas to fresh fish, the gastronomy is guaranteed.
• Children's Area: For the little ones, there are play areas on the sand, allowing them to have fun and socialize while we can relax nearby.
