How to Get to Playa de Cadavedo (La Ribeirona)

Getting to Playa de Cadavedo (La Ribeirona) is part of the adventure and allows us to appreciate the rural beauty of Valdés. From the Autovía del Cantábrico (A-8), we will take the exit towards Cadavedo. Once in the village, we will follow the signs that guide us along a local, winding, and picturesque road that descends to the coast. It's a short journey, but one that offers spectacular views of the marine environment and the green valleys that surround it.

Access and Parking

The road leads us directly to a parking area located at the top of the beach. It's a public parking area, not very large, but generally sufficient outside of peak summer days. From there, access to the sand is via a path or a ramp, making it easier to get down to the shore. It's important to consider that, although the access is relatively comfortable, it is not adapted for people with very limited mobility, as the last stretch can be a bit steep. Our recommendation is to arrive early in July and August to secure a good parking spot, as the popularity of the Valdés beach is increasing.

The water's transparency allows us to see the rocky bottom in many areas, which is an indicator of its purity and an incentive for those who enjoy occasional snorkeling. We have always felt the water here has a very particular blue-green color, which changes with the daylight and the state of the sea.
