How to Get to Playa de Cabo Negro

Getting to Playa de Cabo Negro is relatively straightforward, given its popularity and the good infrastructure of the area. For most international visitors, the usual entry point is Tangier-Ibn Battouta Airport (TNG), located about 75 kilometers away, or Tetouan-Sania Ramel Airport (TTU), which is much closer, about 15 kilometers away. From either of these airports, we can choose from several transportation options to reach our coastal destination.

By Car

If we prefer the independence and comfort of moving at our own pace, renting a car is an excellent option. From Tangier, the route is direct via the A6 motorway and then the N2, which will take us directly to the Cabo Negro area. The journey takes approximately an hour and a half. From Tetouan, the journey is much shorter, just 20-30 minutes via the N16 road. Signage is clear and access to Playa de Cabo Negro is well indicated. Furthermore, having a vehicle will allow us to easily explore the surroundings, discovering hidden coves or visiting nearby villages.

By Taxi

Taxis are a comfortable and affordable alternative, especially if we are traveling in a group or with luggage. From Tangier airport or from the city of Tetouan, we can negotiate a fare with a 'grand taxi' (shared or private taxi for intercity trips). It is advisable to agree on the price before starting the journey to avoid misunderstandings. Taxis are usually plentiful and will drop us off directly at our accommodation or at the main entrance to Playa de Cabo Negro.

By Bus

Although less direct, the bus is the most economical option. From the Tetouan bus station, there are local lines connecting to Martil and M'diq, which are towns very close to Cabo Negro. From there, a short taxi ride or even a walk will take us to the beach. This option is ideal for budget travelers who are not in a hurry and wish to experience local transport.

The Sand and Water

Playa de Cabo Negro is distinguished by its natural characteristics that make it so attractive. Its sand is predominantly fine and golden, inviting long barefoot walks or sandcastle building for the little ones.
