If we come by car, the A-8 motorway is the main access route to the area. We must take the exit towards Sopela and follow the signs to the beaches. Once in Sopela, signs for 'Playas' or 'Arrietara' will guide us without any problems. The beach has parking areas, both free and paid (the latter being more numerous and available in summer), which is a great advantage. However, on the busiest days, the car parks can fill up quickly, so arriving early is a good strategy.

By Public Transport

For those who prefer public transport, the most convenient option is the Bilbao metro. Line 1 goes all the way to Sopela. Once at Sopela metro station, Playa de Arrietara is about a 20-25 minute walk away. It's a pleasant walk we can enjoy, or we can choose to take one of the local buses that connect the station with the beach area, especially useful if we are carrying luggage or have small children. This alternative is ideal for not worrying about parking and contributing to sustainability.
