How to Get to Playa de Arnar

Getting to Playa de Arnar is part of the adventure and, at the same time, one of the reasons why it retains that air of exclusivity and tranquility. We recommend you plan your route well, as its access, while not complicated, requires a bit of attention. The beach is located in the municipality of Arnuero, between the towns of Isla and Noja, an area well-connected by road.

By Car

The most comfortable way to get there is undoubtedly by car. From Santander, the journey takes approximately 40-50 minutes, taking the A-8 motorway towards Bilbao and then turning off onto the CA-141 towards Santoña/Noja. If you're coming from Bilbao, also via the A-8, the time is similar, but heading towards Santander. Once you approach Arnuero or Isla, you'll find signage towards the beach. It's important to know that, although there are parking areas near the top of the cliff, especially during the summer months, they can fill up quickly. We advise arriving early to secure a good spot. From the parking area, you'll have to descend via a path or some stairs that will lead you directly to the sand. This descent, although not excessively long, does have a certain slope, which adds a touch of exclusivity to the arrival and rewards us with spectacular views before stepping onto the sand.

Public Transport

Although a car is most recommended, it's also possible to get close by public transport to the towns of Isla or Noja, and from there, if the distance allows, take a taxi or even enjoy a walk if you're hiking enthusiasts. However, for the convenience of carrying your beach belongings and exploring the surroundings, the car remains our preferred option for visiting Playa de Arnar.
