We always recommend flexibility, and in this case, the car is the most convenient option to reach this paradise.

By Car

Renting a car is, in our opinion, the best way to explore Malta and, in particular, to get to Armier Bay. From the capital, Valletta, the journey takes approximately 45-50 minutes, depending on traffic. From St. Julian's or Sliema, the more touristy areas, the trip is similar, perhaps about 40 minutes. You should head north, passing through Mellieħa. Once you approach the northern tip, the signs for Armier Bay are quite clear. The advantage of going by car is that there is a relatively large parking area right next to the beaches, which greatly facilitates access with all your beach gear. This is especially useful if you are traveling with children or if you plan to spend the whole day relaxing under the Maltese sun.

By Bus

Public transport in Malta is efficient, but for Armier Bay, the connections can be a bit less direct. There are bus lines that go to Mellieħa, but from there, the journey to Armier may require a transfer or, in some cases, a considerable walk. Route 222 will take you to Mellieħa, and from the Mellieħa Bay stop, you could look for a local connection or consider a taxi for the final stretch. We, honestly, if your time is limited or if you seek maximum comfort, suggest opting for the car. However, for the more adventurous or those who prefer a more local experience, the bus is an economical option, albeit with its limitations.

Other Options

During the high season, it is sometimes possible to find small boats or excursions that include a stop at Armier Bay, especially if they come from Comino or Gozo. However, it is not a common way to get exclusively to the beach. Whatever your choice, the journey to this Mellieħa beach is a perfect prelude to the serenity that awaits you.
