How to Get to Playa de Aramal

Getting to Playa de Aramal is relatively straightforward, which adds to its appeal. It's located in Val de San Vicente, very close to the town of Pesués and a short distance from the A-8 (Cantabrian Motorway), making it easily accessible from any point in the region or neighboring provinces like Asturias or the Basque Country.

If we come by car, which is the most comfortable and common option, we must take exit 269 from the A-8 towards Pesués/Val de San Vicente. Once in Pesués, the signs to the beach are clear and will guide us along well-maintained local roads to the beach. There are parking areas nearby, although in high season they may be paid, and it's advisable to arrive early to secure a good spot. We always recommend checking the rates and availability, as they can vary depending on the time of year. The advantage is that, even if the main parking is full, there are usually alternatives in the surrounding area, although perhaps a bit farther away.

As for public transport, the options are more limited. There are bus lines connecting Val de San Vicente with other Cantabrian towns, but they usually don't have a direct stop at the beach. From the center of Pesués or San Vicente de la Barquera, we could consider a taxi or, if we're adventurous, a pleasant walk that would allow us to enjoy the rural and coastal landscape. However, for most visitors, a private vehicle remains the best choice for exploring the area with complete freedom.

The Sand and Water

One of the main charms of Playa de Aramal lies, without a doubt, in its sand and waters. The sand is fine and of a beautiful golden color, very pleasant to the touch and perfect for laying out a towel, building sandcastles with the kids, or simply walking barefoot feeling each grain under our feet. This characteristic sets it apart from other Cantabrian beaches that often have coarser sand or pebbles, making Aramal an exceptionally comfortable place for relaxation.

The waters of Playa de Aramal are generally calm and clean, with moderate waves that make it very safe for swimming, even for the youngest members of the family. • Showers and Toilets/WC: Essential for hygiene after a day at the beach. The facilities are usually clean and well-maintained, which is always a plus.
• Chiringuitos: One or several beach bars are usually operational during the summer, offering refreshing drinks, ice cream, snacks, and in some cases, light meals. They are perfect for taking a break and enjoying a snack with sea views.
• Sunshades and Sunbeds: Often, there are rental services for sunshades and sunbeds, allowing us to travel lighter and secure our shaded and comfortable space without having to carry our own equipment.
• Parking: As we already mentioned, there are nearby parking areas, facilitating access to the beach.
