How to Get to Playa de Agios Ioannis

Getting to Playa de Agios Ioannis is relatively straightforward, although, as with many other Mykonos beaches, the island offers various transportation options to suit each traveler's preferences. Our adventure generally begins from Mykonos Town (Chora), the vibrant heart of the island, located about 5-6 kilometers northeast of Agios Ioannis.

By Rental Car or Scooter

Undoubtedly, the most comfortable and flexible way to explore Mykonos and reach Playa de Agios Ioannis is by renting a car or a scooter. There are numerous rental agencies in Mykonos Town and at the airport. The road to Agios Ioannis is well-signposted and in good condition. The journey usually takes between 10 and 15 minutes, depending on traffic. Furthermore, the beach has free parking, which is a great advantage on an island where parking can be a challenge during high season. This allows us the freedom to move at our own pace and explore the surroundings at our convenience.

By Public Bus

Mykonos has a reliable and economical public bus service, operated by the KTEL company. Buses depart regularly from the Fabrika bus station in Mykonos Town to Agios Ioannis. Schedules vary by season, being more frequent during the summer months. The bus ride is an excellent option for those who prefer not to drive or are looking for a more economical alternative. The drop-off point leaves us a short walk from the beach, allowing us to enjoy the scenery as we approach our relaxation destination.

By Taxi or Private Transport

For a more direct and hassle-free option, we can choose a taxi or a private transport service. Taxis are available in Mykonos Town, the airport, and the port. Although it is the most expensive alternative, it is ideal if we are traveling with a lot of luggage or simply desire maximum comfort. It is advisable to agree on the fare before starting the trip, especially in high season. Some hotels also offer transfer services, which can be a convenient option if we already have our accommodation booked near the Mykonos beach.
