By Car

From Chania, the trip is longer, about 3 and a half hours (around 230 km).

Once in Ierapetra, the coastal road heading east is well signposted and will take you directly to Playa de Agia Fotia. There is ample free parking available right behind the beach, which makes visiting very easy. The advantage of going by car is that it will also allow you to explore the nearby villages and coves at your own pace.

By Bus

The public bus system (KTEL) in Crete is quite efficient and connects the main cities and towns. You can take a bus from Heraklion to Ierapetra.
