By Air

The fastest way for most national and international travelers is to fly into Puerto Escondido International Airport (PMX). This airport receives direct flights from Mexico City and, in high season, from some other major cities. Once at the airport, which is about 10-15 minutes by car from Zicatela, you can take a shared taxi (known as a 'colectivo'), a private taxi, or a pre-booked transportation service. Taxis usually have fixed rates to the main areas of Puerto Escondido, including Zicatela.

By Land

If you prefer a road adventure or are coming from nearby cities, the bus is an excellent option. Several bus lines connect Puerto Escondido with cities like Oaxaca de Juárez, Mexico City, Acapulco, and Huatulco. The bus terminals in Puerto Escondido are well-connected with taxis that will take you directly to the beach.
