How to Get to Playa de Oued Laou

Getting to Playa de Oued Laou is part of the adventure and, fortunately, quite straightforward. Its strategic location in northern Morocco makes it accessible from several major cities.

By Car

The most comfortable and flexible way to get there is undoubtedly by car. From Tetuán, the provincial capital, the journey takes approximately 45 minutes to an hour, following the coastal road that offers us spectacular views of the Mediterranean. It's a well-signposted road in good condition. If we're coming from Tangier, the trip will take about two hours, while from Chefchaouen, the famous 'blue city', it will take around an hour and a half, crossing mountainous landscapes that are a marvel in themselves.

By Bus or Shared Taxi

For those who prefer public transport, there are buses and 'grand taxis' (shared taxis) connecting Tetuán with Oued Laou. Grand taxis are a popular and economical option in Morocco; they depart from bus stations or specific points in cities and are an excellent way to interact with locals. Buses offer a more structured journey and are often just as efficient. Once in Oued Laou, the beach is easily accessible on foot from the town center.

Nearby Airports

The nearest airports are Sania Ramel Airport (TTU) in Tetuán and Ibn Battuta Airport (TNG) in Tangier. From either, we can take a taxi, rent a car, or use local transport services to reach our destination at the Tetuán beach of Oued Laou.

• Chiringuitos and Restaurants: Along the promenade and in the adjacent town, we discovered a good variety of chiringuitos and small restaurants where we can taste delicious local cuisine, especially fresh fish. They are perfect for a light lunch or a sunset dinner.
