How to Get to Playa de Lithi

We always highly recommend renting a car to explore the island at your own pace, as it will give you the freedom to discover not only Lithi but also the fascinating fortified medieval villages and mastic fields that make Chios such a special and unique place in the world.

From Chios Town, the drive takes approximately 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic and your speed. The roads, while not always highways, are generally in good condition and well-signposted, although they can be a bit winding as you approach the coast. Follow the signs towards Pyrgi and, from there, look for signs to Lithi. The road will take you through rural landscapes, centuries-old olive groves, and small traditional villages, offering you an authentic glimpse of local life and the island's topography before reaching the coast. There are also bus options from Chios Town, although schedules may be less frequent, especially outside the peak summer season.
