How to Get to Playa de Potistika

Getting to Playa de Potistika is part of the adventure and charm of visiting Pilio. This jewel is located on the east coast of the peninsula, which means the journey there rewards us with spectacular views of the lush vegetation and the Aegean Sea. Generally, the best way to access Potistika is by car, as public transport in this more rural area of Pilio is limited and does not go directly to the beach. The journey itself is a delight, winding along picturesque roads that pass through small traditional villages and centuries-old olive groves.

If we are coming from Volos, the provincial capital, the trip takes approximately an hour and a half to two hours, depending on traffic and any stops we make to admire the scenery. The most common route will take us through Argalasti, one of the largest villages in southern Pilio, and then towards Xinovrysi, a small and charming coastal village. From Xinovrysi, there are signs that will guide us to Playa de Potistika. The roads are in good condition, although some sections can be narrow and winding, adding a touch of authenticity to the experience of exploring mainland Greece. There is a parking area near the beach, which facilitates access and allows us to bring everything we need for a perfect day under the sun.
