How to Get to Playa de Nei Pori

Getting to Playa de Nei Pori is relatively easy, as the Pieria region is well connected. For most international travelers, the most convenient entry point is Thessaloniki International Airport (SKG), known as 'Macedonia'. From there, we can choose from several alternatives to reach our coastal destination.

By Car

Renting a car at the airport is undoubtedly the most recommended option, as it gives us the freedom to explore not only the beach but also the charming surroundings and the beaches of Pieria. The journey from Thessaloniki to Nei Pori is approximately 120 kilometers and takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes, depending on traffic. We will take the A1/E75 highway south towards Athens and exit at the sign for Nei Pori or Platamonas. The signage is clear and the journey, for the most part, is on a modern, well-maintained road.

By Train

There is a rail connection from Thessaloniki to Nei Pori station. The trains are comfortable and offer panoramic views of the Greek countryside. Once at Nei Pori station, the beach and the village are within walking distance or a short taxi ride away. It's an ecological and relaxing option, especially if we're not in a hurry.

By Bus

From the Thessaloniki bus station (KTEL Makedonia), there are regular services to Katerini, the capital of Pieria. From Katerini, we can take another local bus that will take us directly to Nei Pori. Although it can be a bit slower due to the stops, it's an economical option for budget travelers.

The Sand and Water

Playa de Nei Pori is famous for its fine golden sand, which stretches for several kilometers. Walking barefoot on it is a delight, and its soft texture makes it perfect for children to build sandcastles without difficulty. The width of the beach ensures that, even in high season, we can always find a quiet spot to lay our towel and enjoy the sun.

The waters of the Aegean Sea at Nei Pori are exceptionally crystal clear and calm. • Beach Bars and Restaurants: The gastronomic offer is wide and varied. From small beach bars serving refreshing drinks and snacks, to restaurants with more elaborate menus where we can taste delicious Greek cuisine, especially fresh fish and seafood.
