How to Get to Playa de Prassa

Getting to Playa de Prassa is part of the adventure and charm of visiting Kimolos. First, we must reach the island. Kimolos is accessible mainly by ferry. The most common route is from the port of Piraeus in Athens, a journey that can take between 7 and 8 hours, depending on the type of ferry. Another option, and often the most practical, is to fly to the nearby island of Milos and from there take a local ferry connecting Milos with Kimolos in a journey of just 30 minutes.

Once on Kimolos, the island is small and easy to explore. From the port of Psathi or the capital, Chora, there are several ways to get to Prassa:

• By bus: During the high season, there is usually a bus service connecting Chora with the main beaches, including Prassa. It's an economical and comfortable option for us.
• By rental car or scooter: For greater flexibility, we recommend renting a vehicle. The road to Prassa is paved and in good condition, making the 15-20 minute journey from Chora very pleasant. It allows us to explore other corners of the island with total freedom.
• On foot: For the more adventurous, it's possible to walk from Chora, although the journey is long (about 5-6 km) and under the Greek sun can be demanding. We prefer to reserve this option for exploring closer areas.
