The island of Evia is connected to the Greek mainland by a bridge in the city of Chalkida, which facilitates access by car. From Athens, the drive to Chalkida takes about an hour. Once in Chalkida, we will venture into the heart of the island, heading towards the east coast.

The journey from Chalkida to Playa de Mourteri will take us around an hour and a half to two hours, depending on traffic and any stops we make to admire the scenery. The route takes us along winding roads that snake through pine-covered mountains, small traditional villages, and fertile valleys. It's a scenic journey that allows us to appreciate the geographical diversity of Evia. We highly recommend renting a car, as public transport to this area of the island is limited and does not go directly to the beach, which would give us invaluable flexibility to explore not only the beach but also its charming surroundings.

To get there easily, once we are in the Kimi or Avlonari region, we will follow the signs towards Mourteri. The last few kilometers are usually on secondary roads, but generally well-signposted, gently descending to the coast, revealing spectacular views of the Aegean as we approach our destination.
