How to get to Playa de Mitikas

Getting to Playa de Mitikas is a simple and rewarding adventure. This beautiful beach is located in the municipality of Aetolia-Acarnania, in western mainland Greece, facing the idyllic Ionian Islands. By car

If we are coming from Athens, the car journey takes approximately 4-5 hours, depending on traffic and stops. From the city of Agrinio, one of the largest urban centers in the Aetolia-Acarnania region, the beach is about 1.5 hours by car, following the coastal road that winds through small villages and olive groves. If we arrive from the north, for example, from the island of Lefkada (accessed by a bridge), the journey is approximately one hour, making it a perfect day trip if we are staying there.

Once in the village of Mitikas, the beach is easily accessible. We will find parking available, although in the high season months it can be a bit busier, so we recommend arriving early to secure a good spot. The proximity of the village to the beach means that, once parked, everything is within a short walk, allowing us to quickly enjoy the sand and sea.
