There is informal parking right next to the beach or near the local taverna.

• ### By Taxi

From Egina Town, you can take a taxi. It's a comfortable option, especially if you're traveling with luggage or in a group. Be sure to agree on the price with the driver before starting the trip, although taxis in Egina usually have reasonable rates.

• ### By Bus

Egina has a public bus network connecting the capital with various villages and Egina beaches. However, frequencies to Portes can be limited, especially outside the high season. It's advisable to check the updated schedules at the Egina Town bus station to plan your trip in advance. This option is more economical but requires more patience and planning.

Furthermore, the waters here are generally calm and shallow near the shore, making it a safe and pleasant option for swimming, even for those who aren't experienced swimmers. It's the kind of water that invites you to stay for hours, floating carefree and enjoying the Greek sun.

Services and Facilities

Playa de Portes is characterized by its relatively pristine nature and discreet atmosphere, which means you won't find the extensive tourist infrastructure of other, more developed Egina beaches. And, honestly, that's part of its charm!

• Parking: Parking is available, although it's informal. You can park your vehicle along the road bordering the beach or near the local taverna. Don't expect a marked or paved parking lot, but we've always found a spot to leave the car without problems.

• Chiringuitos and Restaurants: While there isn't a typical 'chiringuito' directly on the sand, you'll find a charming Greek taverna right next to the beach. This establishment, often the only one nearby, offers you the chance to enjoy a traditional Greek meal, fresh fish, and refreshing drinks. It's the perfect place to take shelter from the sun, enjoy the sea views, and recharge after a swim. Sometimes, these tavernas may offer some umbrellas and sunbeds to their customers, but it's not a general beach service.
