How to Get to Playa de Avlaki

Getting to Playa de Avlaki is quite straightforward, given its strategic location in Porto Rafti, in the Attica region. We always recommend planning transportation in advance to ensure a hassle-free trip, especially during the high season.

By Car

Undoubtedly, the most comfortable way to get to Playa de Avlaki is by car. From Athens, the journey takes approximately 45-60 minutes, depending on traffic. We must take the Attiki Odos (A6) highway towards Markopoulo/Airport and then follow the signs to Porto Rafti. The signage is clear and the road is pleasant, passing through rural and urban landscapes. Once in Porto Rafti, Playa de Avlaki is well signposted. There is often parking available nearby, although in the summer months it can fill up quickly, so it's advisable to arrive early.

By Public Transport

If you prefer public transport, you can take an intercity bus (KTEL Attikis) from the Pedion Areos bus station in Athens to Porto Rafti. Buses usually run regularly, especially in summer. Once in Porto Rafti, Playa de Avlaki is within walking distance from the town center, or you can opt for a local taxi if you have a lot of luggage or prefer not to walk in the sun. It's an economical option and allows us to enjoy the scenery without worrying about driving.

From the Airport

The proximity to Athens International Airport 'Eleftherios Venizelos' (ATH) is a great advantage. From the airport, you can take a taxi directly to Porto Rafti and Playa de Avlaki, which takes about 20-30 minutes and is the fastest option. Alternatively, you can rent a car at the airport, which gives us the freedom to explore the surroundings at our own pace. There are several reputable car rental companies operating at the airport, and prices are usually reasonable if booked in advance.
