How to Get to Playa de El Puig

Getting to Playa de El Puig is surprisingly easy, making it a very accessible option from the city of Valencia and its surroundings. We were surprised the first time by how well-connected it is.

By Car

If you come by car, as we usually do, the route is very direct. From Valencia, you just need to take the V-21 motorway heading north. The exit towards El Puig de Santa Maria is clearly signposted. Once in the municipality, following the signs to the beach takes just minutes. The journey from the center of Valencia barely lasts 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic.

One of the great advantages of this beach is the availability of parking. There are several parking areas, both free in the surrounding areas and paid, especially near the busier zones. We always find a spot, even in high season, although sometimes you have to search a bit more. It's a relief not to worry about where to leave the car, allowing us to enjoy ourselves from the very first moment.

By Public Transport

For those who prefer public transport, there are also good options. The interurban bus line L112 (managed by Herca) connects Valencia (from the Bus Station and other key stops) directly with El Puig and its beach. The schedules are quite frequent during the summer, making a visit without a car very easy. Furthermore, the El Puig train station, although not directly on the beach, offers connections to Valencia and other nearby towns, and from there you can take a local bus or a taxi to the shore. We have opted for this alternative on occasion and it's very comfortable if you don't want to drive.

The beach fills with life, with a family-friendly and festive atmosphere. The days are long and the nights invite you to stroll along the promenade. We really enjoy the summer bustle, although it's true there are more people and prices can be slightly higher.

Spring and Early Autumn: Tranquility and Good Weather

For us, the months of May, early June, September, and early October are perhaps the best time to enjoy Playa de El Puig in its purest state. The weather is still magnificent, with mild temperatures and many hours of sunshine, but the influx of people is much lower. This allows you to enjoy the beach with a tranquility that is hard to find in the middle of August. Basic services usually remain operational, and the sea water still retains a pleasant temperature for swimming, especially in September. It's the ideal time for long walks along the shore, reading a book without interruptions, or simply relaxing and listening to the sound of the waves. We always recommend this time for those seeking a more serene and authentic experience.

Winter: Walks and Disconnection

The winter months (November to April) are for lovers of absolute tranquility. The climate in Valencia is usually mild even in winter, with many sunny days. Although swimming is not an option for most, the beach becomes a perfect place for walking, practicing sports, or simply enjoying the peace and beauty of the winter landscape. Many of the chiringuitos close, but the charm of the beach remains intact. For us, it's an ideal time to recharge and enjoy the coast from another perspective.

For lovers of more tranquil sailing, it's also possible to rent pedal boats (water bikes) with slides, a very fun activity for families or groups of friends. And if you like scuba diving or snorkeling, although there are no large reefs, the clarity of the water on good days allows you to explore the seabed near the breakwaters, where you can see small fish and algae.
