How to Get to Playa del Fangar

Getting to Playa del Fangar is part of the adventure and the experience that makes it so special. It is not a beach with direct car access, which helps preserve its natural state and keep it away from overcrowding. We recommend planning your visit well, especially in the warmer months.

Main Access from Deltebre

The most common starting point is from the municipality of Deltebre. Once in Deltebre, you should head towards the Riumar area. From there, you will find signs or can follow the path that leads to the start of the forest track that goes into the Fangar peninsula. This track is unpaved and, although passable, caution is advised. Car access is permitted up to a certain point where there is an informal parking area. It is essential to respect the signs and not drive the vehicle beyond what is allowed, as we are in a protected area.

The Walk to the Lighthouse

Once the car is parked, the most beautiful and characteristic part of the journey begins: a walk of approximately 4 to 6 kilometers (depending on the exact starting point and what we want to explore) across an extensive plain of sand and dunes to reach the famous Far del Fangar. This walk, although long, is mostly flat and very pleasant if the weather is good. We always advise bringing:

• Sufficient water: There are no fountains or services along the way.
• Sun protection: A hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen are essential, as the exposure is total.
• Comfortable footwear: Sandals or shoes suitable for walking on sand.
• Food: If you plan to spend several hours, a light picnic is an excellent idea.
• Camera: The photographic opportunities are endless.

It is fascinating to observe how the wind sculpts these dunes, creating landscapes that change daily and add constant dynamism to the beach. Calm and Shallow Waters
