How to Get to Playa de Cunit

Getting to Playa de Cunit is relatively straightforward, making it an accessible destination for many. We, as beach tourism experts, always recommend planning the trip to enjoy it to the fullest from the first moment.

By Car

If you choose to drive, Playa de Cunit is well connected via the AP-7 (exit 31 or 32) and the C-32 (exit 13). From Barcelona, the journey takes approximately 45-60 minutes, while from Tarragona city, it will take you about 30-40 minutes. Once in Cunit, you'll find various parking areas, both paid and free, especially along the promenade and adjacent streets. It's true that in high season it can be a challenge to find a spot, so we advise arriving early or considering public transport options.

By Train

One of the most comfortable ways to get there is by train, using the R2 Sud line of Rodalies de Catalunya. Cunit station is just a few minutes' walk from the beach, which is a considerable advantage. The trains have good frequency, connecting Cunit directly with Barcelona, El Prat Airport, and other coastal towns. We ourselves have experienced how practical this mode of transport is, allowing us to avoid parking stress and enjoy the scenery during the journey.

By Bus

Several intercity bus lines connect Cunit with nearby municipalities and cities like Tarragona. While it might not be the most direct option for everyone, it can be a useful alternative if your starting point is a locality with a direct bus connection.

The Sand and the Water

The experience at Playa de Cunit begins long before diving into its waters. The sand is undoubtedly one of its greatest attractions. We are faced with fine, golden sand, incredibly soft to the touch, inviting you to walk barefoot, build sandcastles, or simply lie down and enjoy the sun. The waves are practically non-existent, or very gentle, creating ideal conditions for bathing. The water is crystal clear and shallow at the shore, allowing children to splash around safely, while adults can enjoy a relaxing swim without worrying about currents or great depths. We consider it one of the safest beaches on the Costa Dorada for swimming. Furthermore, the water temperature is usually very pleasant during the summer months, inviting us to spend hours in and out of the sea.
