How to Get to Playa de Calafell

Getting to Playa de Calafell is really easy, which adds to its appeal. We, who value ease of travel, know this is a key factor for many travelers.

By Car

If we choose to drive, Playa de Calafell is excellently connected. From Barcelona, we can take the C-32 highway (known as the Autopista de Pau Casals) heading south, or the AP-7 to the El Vendrell exit and then the C-31. From Tarragona, the C-31 will take us directly. The journey is comfortable and the roads are usually in good condition. Once in Calafell, we will find several parking areas, both paid and some free options on adjacent streets, although in high season it can be a bit more difficult to find a spot near the beachfront. Our recommendation is to arrive early if we travel in the middle of summer.

By Train

For those who prefer public transport, the train is a fantastic and eco-friendly option. Calafell has a Rodalies de Catalunya station (R2 Sud line), which connects directly with Barcelona and other coastal towns. Calafell station is a very short distance from the beach, about a 10-15 minute walk, allowing us to arrive and enjoy the sea almost immediately. It's a relaxed way to avoid traffic and parking problems.

By Bus

There are also bus lines connecting Calafell with other nearby towns and larger cities. The stops are usually well located and offer a good alternative for those moving around the area without their own vehicle. It is advisable to check specific schedules and routes according to our point of origin.
