When we talk about Cala Mosques, we talk about a refuge. Its compact size, barely 60 meters long, makes it an intimate and welcoming space, ideal for those seeking to escape the crowds of other beaches on the Costa Dorada. Its waters, of an impressive turquoise blue, wash over golden, fine sand, creating an idyllic setting that attracts families with young children, couples, or people simply wanting to relax under the sun. How to Get to Cala Mosques

Getting to Cala Mosques is relatively straightforward, though it requires a little planning. We always recommend going by car, as it's the most comfortable way to access most coves in this area. From the center of L'Ametlla de Mar, take the local road that runs along the coast heading south. You'll find signs for the various coves, and Cala Mosques is well signposted.

Parking

Although there is no parking directly on the sand, there is a designated parking area very close to the cove, just a few meters' walk away. It's important to note that during the peak season months (July and August), this parking lot can fill up quickly, so we advise arriving early to secure a good spot. The final access to the sand is via a short and comfortable path, suitable for most visitors.

The Sand and Water

The main feature of Cala Mosques that we love is its sand. It's of a fineness and golden color that invite you to walk barefoot and build sandcastles effortlessly. The texture is soft and pleasant, making it perfect for children to play with complete freedom and safety. We love the feeling of the sand under our feet as we approach the sea.

As for the water, it's simply spectacular. The waters of Cala Mosques are known for their transparency and turquoise hue, reminiscent of Caribbean landscapes. Thanks to its protected cove configuration, the waves are usually very gentle, almost non-existent, making it an ideal natural swimming pool. The water temperature, especially in summer, is very pleasant, inviting us to take long dips and enjoy the coolness of the sea. The water quality is so good that, in fact, the beach often flies the Blue Flag, a distinction that guarantees its environmental and service excellence.

Services and Facilities

Although Cala Mosques retains a natural charm, it doesn't lack the basic services that we and any visitor might need for a comfortable beach day. We've found that the management of this cove focuses on the bather's well-being without sacrificing its essence.

• Showers: We have showers available to rinse off the salt and sand before heading home, a service we always appreciate.
• Parking: As mentioned, there is a nearby parking area, facilitating access to the cove.
• Chiringuitos: During the high season, there is usually at least one chiringuito on the sand itself or very close by, where we can enjoy a refreshing drink, an ice cream, or even a light bite to eat. It's the perfect spot for a short break from the sun.
• Lifeguards: Safety is paramount, and during the summer months, the beach has lifeguard services for the peace of mind of all bathers, especially families with children.
• Sunbeds and umbrellas: For those who prefer to travel light, there is the possibility of renting sunbeds and umbrellas directly at the cove, allowing us to relax to the fullest without carrying our own equipment.
• Restrooms/WC: Essential for any beach, and Cala Mosques has this service for greater comfort.

Best Time to Visit

From our experience, the best time to visit Cala Mosques and fully enjoy its charm is during the months of June and September. During these times, the climate on the Costa Dorada is exceptionally pleasant, with warm but not stifling temperatures, and the number of visitors is significantly lower than in the height of summer.

While July and August offer the warmest water and the guarantee of all services being operational, they are also the busiest months. If you decide to visit during peak season, we recommend arriving early in the morning to secure a good spot and enjoy the cove at its most peaceful. For us, spring (May) and early autumn (October) are also excellent options if you're looking to walk along the coast and enjoy the scenery, although swimming might be a bit cooler.

Cala Mosques is a place that primarily invites relaxation and enjoying a swim, but its characteristics also make it ideal for some simple water activities. The clarity and calm of its waters are perfect for:
