How to Get to Cala Jovera

By Car

If we're coming from Tarragona, we'll take the N-340 heading north or the AP-7 to the Altafulla/Tamarit exit. Once in the Tamarit Castle area, we'll find signs for the parking. It's important to know that the parking is not directly at the cove, but near the castle or on the adjacent streets of the Tamarit urbanization. During the summer months, parking can be a bit more challenging, so arriving early is a good strategy. From the parking, there's usually a short walk, sometimes along paths or stairs, to the cove. This contributes to its 'hideaway' charm.

By Public Transport

Public transport offers us options, although it won't drop us directly on the sand. We can take a bus from Tarragona to the Tamarit or La Mora area. From there, we'll have to walk a considerable distance or consider a taxi for the last few kilometers. For us, the flexibility of a car is the most comfortable option for exploring this cove and its surroundings, allowing us to bring our umbrellas, coolers, and everything needed for a perfect beach day.

On Foot or by Bicycle

For hiking or cycling enthusiasts, there are coastal routes connecting Cala Jovera with other nearby beaches and coves, such as Tamarit Beach or Playa de la Mora. Walking these paths offers us spectacular views and a very healthy way to get there, although we must always consider the time of year and temperatures to avoid excessive heat.
