How to Get to Playa de Lourido

Getting to Playa de Lourido is a simple task, making it an even more attractive destination for us. Its excellent location, just a few kilometers from the provincial capital, Pontevedra, greatly facilitates access. If we come by car, the best route is to take the PO-308 from Pontevedra towards Sanxenxo. The beach is well signposted and has clear turn-offs that will guide us to its vicinity. The road is comfortable and offers spectacular views of the estuary, making the journey part of the experience.

By Car

For us, the car is undoubtedly the most practical option for reaching Playa de Lourido. From Pontevedra, the trip takes just 10-15 minutes. Once in the area, we will find several parking options. There is a nearby public parking lot, often free or low-cost, which makes it easy to leave the vehicle a short distance from the beach. It's true that during the busiest months, like July and August, finding a spot may require a bit more patience, but the infrastructure is designed to handle a good volume of visitors. We recommend arriving early if we plan to visit the beach during the peak season to secure a good spot.

Public Transport

If we prefer public transport, it is also a viable option. Several urban and intercity bus lines connect Pontevedra with the Poio area and, specifically, with the vicinity of Playa de Lourido. The stops are usually a short walk from the beach, which is ideal for those who don't have their own vehicle or prefer a more sustainable option. Checking the schedules and routes of the local transport company (such as Monbus) is advisable, as frequencies may vary depending on the season. For us, it's an excellent way to not worry about parking and enjoy the scenery during the journey.
