By Car

The most comfortable way to access Illa de Arousa and, therefore, Playa de Cabodeiro, is by car. From Pontevedra, the provincial capital, the journey takes approximately 40-50 minutes. We take the AP-9 motorway heading north and then the turnoff towards the O Salnés region (PO-549 or PO-308), following the signs to Vilanova de Arousa and, finally, Illa de Arousa. Access to the island is via an impressive bridge almost 2 kilometers long, offering spectacular views of the estuary. Once on the island, the beach is well signposted and has nearby parking areas, although they can fill up quickly during the high season, so we advise arriving early.

By Bus

If you prefer public transport, there are bus lines connecting Vilagarcía de Arousa (the nearest city with a train station) with Illa de Arousa. From Vilagarcía, the trip is short and comfortable. Once on the Illa, Playa de Cabodeiro is a short walk from the town center, or you can opt for a local taxi if you have a lot of luggage.

Walking or by Bicycle

For the more active, Illa de Arousa is perfect for exploring on foot or by bicycle.
