How to Get to Playa de Mistral

Getting to Playa de Mistral is relatively straightforward, given its location in a well-developed area like La Manga. If we come by car, the AP-7 motorway connects us directly to the Murcia region, and from there, the RM-12 takes us straight to La Manga. Once on the peninsula, the beach is located on the Mar Menor side, easily accessible from Gran Vía, the main artery that runs the length of La Manga. We always recommend using a GPS, but the signs are clear.

Regarding parking, being an urbanized area, we will find various options. Although there isn't always parking right next to the beach, the surrounding streets and nearby residential areas usually have parking spaces, especially outside the peak season. For those who prefer public transport, there are bus lines that run along La Manga and connect with San Javier and Cartagena, facilitating access to the beach without a private vehicle. It's a good option to avoid worries and enjoy the scenery.

The Sand and Water

One of the most attractive features of Playa de Mistral is, without a doubt, its fine, golden sand. It's the kind of sand that invites you to walk barefoot, build sandcastles with the kids, or simply lay out a towel and feel its softness beneath you. For us, Playa de Mistral shines in its own right at different times of the year, depending on what we're looking for. If we yearn for tranquility and mild weather for strolling and relaxing, spring (April, May) and early autumn (September, October) are ideal. The temperatures are pleasant, the sun still warms but without being overwhelming, and the crowds are smaller, allowing us to enjoy the beach in its most serene state.

If, on the contrary, we seek the summer bustle, lively atmosphere, and the effervescence of the holidays, then the summer months (July, August) are our choice. This is when the beach is at its peak, with all services running at full capacity and a contagious energy. Of course, we must consider that occupancy is higher, so we recommend arriving early to find the best spot.
