How to Get to Playa de El Morche

Getting to Playa de El Morche is surprisingly easy, which adds to its appeal, especially if we are traveling with children or a lot of luggage. Its excellent connection with the main communication routes of the Costa del Sol allows us to access it without complications, whether by private car or using public transport.

By Car

If we are coming from Málaga city or the airport, the most direct route is to take the A-7 motorway towards Almería. We should take exit 285 towards Torrox/Frigiliana/Cómpeta and follow the signs to Torrox Costa/El Morche. The journey from Málaga usually takes about 40-50 minutes, depending on traffic. From Nerja or Maro, it is also very easy; we simply take the A-7 towards Málaga and exit at the same sign. The proximity to the motorway greatly facilitates our arrival and exploration of the surrounding area.

By Bus

For those who prefer not to drive, there are intercity bus lines connecting Málaga, Vélez-Málaga, Nerja, and other towns of the Axarquía with Torrox Costa and, therefore, with El Morche. The company ALSA operates these routes regularly. The stop closest to the beach will leave us just a few meters from the promenade, making this option very comfortable and sustainable. We always consider public transport an excellent way to enjoy the scenery without worries.

Parking

One of the advantages of Playa de El Morche is the relative ease of finding parking, especially outside the peak summer months. Along the promenade and adjacent streets, there are usually free parking areas. Although in the middle of August it can be a bit more challenging, we always find options a short distance from the sand, which is a relief for us when traveling with all our beach gear.

We like that it is not excessively coarse, making it comfortable for lying down and relaxing in the sun.
