How to Get to Playa de Artola (Dunas)

Getting to Playa de Artola (Dunas) is relatively easy, although it requires a short walk that, we assure you, is worth it. We recommend several options to reach this natural paradise in Marbella.

By Car

If you are coming by car, the best option is to head towards the Cabopino Marina. From the A-7 (formerly N-340), take the Cabopino exit. Once there, you will find several parking areas near the marina. From the marina, Playa de Artola extends to the west. You can leave your car in the public parking lot, which usually has plenty of capacity, although it can fill up during high season. Once parked, access to the dune area is on foot, via wooden walkways that protect the ecosystem.

By Bus

You can also get there by bus from Marbella center or other nearby towns. The interurban bus lines usually have stops in the Cabopino area. From the bus stop, you will have to walk a few minutes to the beach. It is a more economical and sustainable option, ideal if you don't want to worry about parking.

On Foot or by Bicycle

For the more adventurous or those staying nearby, getting there on foot or by bicycle is a fantastic experience. The Marbella coastal path passes through this area, offering spectacular views and the opportunity to enjoy the landscape before reaching the sand. It is an excellent way to appreciate the beauty of the Artola Dunes in all their splendor.

It is the perfect type of sand to lay out a towel and spend hours in the sun, or for children to play building sandcastles (always respecting the protected areas, of course).

Main Services

• Chiringuitos: At the ends of the beach, near the Cabopino Marina, you will find some charming beach bars like the famous Chiringuito Triana or Andy's Beach. Here you can taste delicious Malaga-style 'pescaíto frito' (fried fish), sardine skewers, rice dishes and other Mediterranean specialties, all with spectacular sea views. They are perfect for a relaxed meal or a drink at sunset.
• Parking: As mentioned before, there are parking areas near the Cabopino Marina, which facilitates access if you come by car. Although it is not directly on the sand, the proximity is an advantage.
• Showers and Toilets/WC: In the areas closest to the main beach bars and access points, you will find showers to rinse off the sand and salt after swimming, as well as public Toilets/WC that are usually well-maintained. This is a big plus, especially if you spend the whole day at the beach.
• Lifeguard Service: During the high summer season, the beach has a lifeguard service, which gives us greater peace of mind when enjoying a swim, especially with children. It is always important to follow their instructions and swim in the supervised areas.
• Sunbeds and Umbrellas: In the areas adjacent to the beach bars, you have the option to rent sunbeds and umbrellas, allowing you to enjoy the beach with greater comfort and sun protection.
